– Scripture:

                 Internal Fight

My heart and mind are fighting each other; Call a truce to this civil war.

– Reflection:

Every day, we wake up, and our eyes open, the internal battle begins. There may be some things that are easier to overlook during the day; then there are those things that really cause us to look inward. The misspoken words to our spouse or a good friend that really needed not to be said at all. How can we get our minds to stop fighting with our spirit? Personally, I reflect on the previous day or a tough time I am having by searching through the WORD to find words about what I am going through. If I can’t do that, then I look for secondhand branches that could have caused my spirit to change from the words I have spoken to the arguments that I wish could be taken back. I don’t analyze I just try to find out if there was a person in the BIBLE that did the same thing or just read and let the Words wash me out. It always helps me. It also takes time to be able to allow this trick to work for you because you really need to be a believer and know that Jesus has saved you.

Where do we go from here?

Watch over your emotions like your kids if you have them; don’t let them control who you are or how you interact with the world. Stay strong and continue to walk the path laid before you. It will be tough because being part of the Kingdom’s family makes you a target, which could trigger the internal fights that happen so often. Second guessing decisions, redoing things that have been completed very well the first time. Honor your time as a person and know that the thoughts, emotions, and feelings are not to be stood on; they are to be recognized as markers that allow you to test the temperature of the moment. Rolling around the house and office with unchecked internal conversations will defeat who you are. Keep your focus on the day and the work GOD has given you. That is a lot more important than how you are feeling every moment of the day.

Our Prayer for the day

Father thank you for allowing the ability to have choices, it is the gentleman that you are that creates who we are and how we move. Allow those who go unchecked to come into the Kingdom and dwell with those of us who have allowed you space in our hearts. May we be the light they need to grow and not let the world access to their hearts and minds as before? We love the people we have become under your guidance and are willing to help those who need you, too. It is with all the grace and mercy that you have given us that we are able to say Amen.
