He Took On The Status Of A Slave

– Today’s Community Scripture – 9/18/2025

If you’ve gotten anything at all out of following Christ, if his love has made any difference in your life, if being in a community of the Spirit means anything to you, if you have a heart, if you care then do me a favor: Agree with each other, love each other, be deep-spirited friends. Don’t push your way to the front; don’t sweet-talk your way to the top. Put yourself aside, and help others get ahead. Don’t be obsessed with getting your own advantage. Forget yourselves long enough to lend a helping hand. Think of yourselves the way Christ Jesus thought of himself. He had equal status with God but didn’t think so much of himself that he had to cling to the advantages of that status no matter what. Not at all. When the time came, he set aside the privileges of deity and took on the status of a slave, became human! Having become human, he stayed human. It was an incredibly humbling process. He didn’t claim special privileges. Instead, he lived a selfless, obedient life and then died a selfless, obedient death—and the worst kind of death at that—a crucifixion. Because of that obedience, God lifted him high and honored him far beyond anyone or anything, ever, so that all created beings in heaven and on earth—even those long ago dead and buried—will bow in worship before this Jesus Christ, and call out in praise that he is the Master of all, to the glorious honor of God the Father.

– Reflection:

The truth here is that genuine faith in Christ changes how we relate to others. It shifts us from self-promotion toward a posture of service, reflecting the humility of Jesus Himself. Although He had every right to cling to divine privilege, He chose instead to humble Himself, to serve, and to suffer for others. This radical humility is not weakness but the path to exaltation, as God honored Christ’s obedience above everything. In a world that often rewards ambition and self-interest, this passage reminds us that the way of Christ is different—it is the way of surrender, compassion, and unity. Living this way not only honors God but also makes us living reflections of His grace to the world.

– Where do we go from here?

We move forward by choosing to live like Jesus. That means being kind, helping others, and not always trying to be first. We don’t need to show off or try to be better than others. Instead, we can listen, care, and work together. Jesus gave up everything to love and serve people. We can do the same in small ways every day—by being patient, sharing, and putting others first. When we live this way, we show God’s love to the world. And that’s a powerful way to make a difference.

Father, thank You for loving us so much. Please help us to become more like Jesus. Teach us to be kind, care about others, and prioritize people over ourselves. Show us how to help, share, and forgive every day. Give us hearts that listen and love. We want to live like Jesus, filled with love, peace, and joy. Amen.

They Can’t Imprison The Message

– Today’s Community Scripture – 9/17/2025

I want to report to you, friends, that my imprisonment here has had the opposite of its intended effect. Instead of being squelched, the Message has actually prospered. All the soldiers here, and everyone else, too, found out that I’m in jail because of this Messiah. That piqued their curiosity, and now they’ve learned all about him. Not only that, but most of the followers of Jesus here have become far more sure of themselves in the faith than ever, speaking out fearlessly about God, about the Messiah. It’s true that some here preach Christ because, with me out of the way, they think they’ll step right into the spotlight. But the others do it with the best heart in the world. One group is motivated by pure love, knowing that I am here defending the Message, wanting to help. The others, now that I’m out of the picture, are merely greedy, hoping to get something out of it for themselves. Their motives are bad. They see me as their competition, and so the worse it goes for me, the better—they think—for them. So how am I to respond? I’ve decided that I really don’t care about their motives, whether mixed, bad, or indifferent. Every time one of them opens his mouth, Christ is proclaimed, so I just cheer them on! And I’m going to keep that celebration going because I know how it’s going to turn out. Through your faithful prayers and the generous response of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, everything he wants to do in and through me will be done. I can hardly wait to continue on my course. I don’t expect to be embarrassed in the least. On the contrary, everything happening to me in this jail only serves to make Christ more accurately known, regardless of whether I live or die. They didn’t shut me up; they gave me a pulpit! Alive, I’m Christ’s messenger; dead, I’m his bounty. Life versus even more life! I can’t lose. As long as I’m alive in this body, there is good work for me to do. If I had to choose right now, I hardly know which I’d choose. Hard choice! The desire to break camp here and be with Christ is powerful. Some days I can think of nothing better. But most days, because of what you are going through, I am sure that it’s better for me to stick it out here. So I plan to be around awhile, companion to you as your growth and joy in this life of trusting God continues. You can start looking forward to a great reunion when I come visit you again. We’ll be praising Christ, enjoying each other. Meanwhile, live in such a way that you are a credit to the Message of Christ. Let nothing in your conduct hang on whether I come or not. Your conduct must be the same whether I show up to see things for myself or hear of it from a distance. Stand united, singular in vision, contending for people’s trust in the Message, the good news, not flinching or dodging in the slightest before the opposition. Your courage and unity will show them what they’re up against: defeat for them, victory for you—and both because of God. There’s far more to this life than trusting in Christ. There’s also suffering for him. And the suffering is as much a gift as the trusting. You’re involved in the same kind of struggle you saw me go through, on which you are now getting an updated report in this letter.

– Reflection:

Paul’s words remind us that even when life gets tough, God can still use us in powerful ways. Paul was in jail, but instead of the message of Jesus being stopped, it actually spread even more! People got curious, others got bold, and the gospel kept moving. Some folks had good hearts, others didn’t—but Paul didn’t let that distract him. He stayed focused on the bigger picture: as long as Jesus was being talked about, he was good with it. That’s a lesson for us too. Whether we’re going through hard times or dealing with people who don’t always have the right motives, we can still shine for Christ. Paul knew that living meant serving Jesus, and dying meant being with Him—either way, he couldn’t lose. So let’s live in a way that shows we belong to Jesus, standing strong together, even when it’s hard. Because sometimes, the struggle is part of the gift.

When the world tries to shut down the truth about Jesus? We keep going. We don’t back down. Just like Paul, we use every moment, even the hard ones, to show people who Jesus is. When others try to twist the message or make it about themselves, we stay focused on the real gospel: that Jesus loves us, died for us, and gives us new life. Our next step is to live boldly, love deeply, and speak truthfully. We don’t need to be loud or famous; we just need to be faithful. Whether we’re at school, at work, or online, we can be a light. And when it gets tough, we remember: we’re not alone. God is with us, and He’s using us to make a difference, one step at a time.

Father, thank you for showing us that even when life is hard, you are still at work. Just like You used Paul in prison to spread the good news, we believe You can use us too—no matter where we are or what we face. Help us to be brave and speak about Jesus with love and truth. When people try to stop us or twist the message, remind us that You are stronger. Give us the courage to stand together, to live in a way that honors You, and never to give up. We trust that You are with us, and that You will finish the good work You started in us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

A Love That Will Grow

– Today’s Community Scripture – 9/16/2025

Paul and Timothy, both of us committed servants of Christ Jesus, write this letter to all the followers of Jesus in Philippi, pastors and ministers included. We greet you with the grace and peace that comes from God our Father and our Master, Jesus Christ. Every time you cross my mind, I break out in exclamations of thanks to God. Each exclamation is a trigger to prayer. I find myself praying for you with a glad heart. I am so pleased that you have continued on in this with us, believing and proclaiming God’s Message, from the day you heard it right up to the present. There has never been the slightest doubt in my mind that the God who started this great work in you would keep at it and bring it to a flourishing finish on the very day Christ Jesus appears. It’s not at all fanciful for me to think this way about you. My prayers and hopes have deep roots in reality. You have, after all, stuck with me all the way from the time I was thrown in jail, put on trial, and came out of it in one piece. All along you have experienced with me the most generous help from God. He knows how much I love and miss you these days. Sometimes I think I feel as strongly about you as Christ does! So this is my prayer: that your love will flourish and that you will not only love much but well. Learn to love appropriately. You need to use your head and test your feelings so that your love is sincere and intelligent, not sentimental gush. Live a lover’s life, circumspect and exemplary, a life Jesus will be proud of: bountiful in fruits from the soul, making Jesus Christ attractive to all, getting everyone involved in the glory and praise of God.

– Reflection:

I wish the world were more like the Bible in truth. Meaning that I wish it were clear to everyone what is meant by the words that are written in the Bible. Each person, whether a pastor or whoever, interprets it in ways that seem to fit their own personal agendas. GOD means for everyone to be saved, but he gave all of us free will. Free will to honor his words or to twist them, it is totally up to us. Paul and Timothy were so happy and honored to be able to pass on the gospel as is, without spin or changes. Can we do the same? When we do so, the Love within us will grow so big that the darkness in the world has to take notice. I have enjoyed these years of service writing this blog. It started as me reading the Bible and leaving notes for myself and my wife after reading in the morning before going to work. Now I have fully created a website with all the messages I have written over the years up to this point. Wanting nothing in return. Now I do have an ask; let’s honor one another as Christ loved everyone he encountered. The Internet is not a real place, but the work the world is doing is making it so. Take time to notice one another in the same rooms, and give each other grace to operate. If you feel like this has hellped you today pass it along; so that they can also begin to heal as well.

The applications are spinning, and the web is being woven each day. We have “People” created the very thing that has given Satan space to tempt and whisper and operate behind the scenes. Manipulating those of us who don’t have a servant’s heart. Sometimes those who mean well are caught off guard and lean in as well. Now that all these things have been created, we need to stand for what is right and fill in the gaps for others until they are allowed to see what is happening. I mean truly happening, not the wants of their hearts, or the groups they are aligned with. We are to be singular vessels that operate together to do the work of Christ. Let’s remember that. As my understanding grows of what is expected from us by our Lord and Savior, it impresses more on me and those who are of the Word itself to dig in and get this work started in each of our gifts to shine bright so that GOD can show up through us all.

– Our Prayer for Today

Jesus, heal us today of all the hurt that we have all experienced from the NEWS, Social Media, and just our own neglect by wanting our own way. Give us the grace we need to be able to heal and help others heal. As each day moves on into weeks, months, and years, we need to have the space to grow into the person we are meant to be. With the grace you give each of every morning, we are all able to say in agreement. Amen.

A Fight To The Finish

– Today’s Community Scripture – 9/15/2025

And that about wraps it up. God is strong, and he wants you strong. So take everything the Master has set out for you, well-made weapons of the best materials. And put them to use so you will be able to stand up to everything the Devil throws your way. This is no afternoon athletic contest that we’ll walk away from and forget about in a couple of hours. This is for keeps, a life-or-death fight to the finish against the Devil and all his angels. Be prepared. You’re up against far more than you can handle on your own. Take all the help you can get, every weapon God has issued, so that when it’s all over but the shouting, you’ll still be on your feet. Truth, righteousness, peace, faith, and salvation are more than words. Learn how to apply them. You’ll need them throughout your life. God’s Word is an indispensable weapon. In the same way, prayer is essential in this ongoing warfare. Pray hard and long. Pray for your brothers and sisters. Keep your eyes open. Keep each other’s spirits up so that no one falls behind or drops out. And don’t forget to pray for me. Pray that I’ll know what to say and have the courage to say it at the right time, telling the mystery to one and all, the Message that I, jailbird preacher that I am, am responsible for getting out. Tychicus, my good friend here, will tell you what I’m doing and how things are going with me. He is certainly a dependable servant of the Master! I’ve sent him not only to tell you about us but to cheer you on in your faith. Good-bye, friends. Love mixed with faith be yours from God the Father and from the Master, Jesus Christ. Pure grace and nothing but grace be with all who love our Master, Jesus Christ.

Ephesians 6:10–24 (MSG)

– Reflection:

In the wake of what last week was, I am sure that Paul would be sad for what we are right now. Here locally, a lady was riding the light rail and was killed, and there was another school shooting in Colorado, and then to add to it, Charlie Kirk, a well-known speaker for Turning Point USA, was taken from this earth as well. I think all four of them would say we are not prepared. The Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit, along with Paul, are definitely praying for us all to get it together. Remember, our tongues are powerful and necessary for communicating what is within us. It is up to us to honor the Word, Our Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit with the proper words and actions to honor the gifts we were given. As we step into those gifts, it is also our job to remember the lowest of us, and if we cannot help them, we definitely shouldn’t hurt them any more than they already are suffering.

– Where do we go from here?

Prayer is what we use as our weapons; if we disagree and want to make a mark on the world, we pray. WE pray for them and ourselves for the words that we may have used in our quiet time against them, and the words that may have helped to affirm the attitude that is created. Remember, the Inter is not a real place. It is make-believe, it is what we do in the world that matters, not on the Internet. Think of the Internet as “The Matrix”. Close the laptop, put the phones down, speak in our communities to real people, leave the Internet to itself, and let’s make this world what Jesus died for. Too many Internet conversations are causing too many problems in reality, just like in the movie “The Matrix”. If you are hurt there, when you leave “The Matrix” and return to reality, you are injured here as well. Violence over a disagreement of stance is a hard pill to swallow; we never get to see the change that could happen or the empathy of the other side for not truly understanding what was meant by the words spoken.

– Our Prayer for Today

Father, please help us to heal from the turmoil of not understanding and acting violently toward words. Allow us first to listen to understand, not to respond. Please give us the ability to discern what is said and how it has affected us. If negative thoughts arise, grant us the ability to look within our hearts and listen to what the Holy Spirit wants from us. Not everything is supposed to make you feel good; some words are said to help us make a change within ourselves, allowing the Holy Spirit to do its work. Action is not always needed. Jesus, help us this week to heal as we honor You and the Holy Spirit with our gifts. Amen.

– Today’s Community Scripture – 9/11/2025

Out of respect for Christ, be courteously reverent to one another. Wives, understand and support your husbands in ways that show your support for Christ. The husband provides leadership to his wife the way Christ does to his church, not by domineering but by cherishing. So just as the church submits to Christ as he exercises such leadership, wives should likewise submit to their husbands. Husbands, go all out in your love for your wives, exactly as Christ did for the church—a love marked by giving, not getting. Christ’s love makes the church whole. His words evoke her beauty. Everything he does and says is designed to bring the best out of her, dressing her in dazzling white silk, radiant with holiness. And that is how husbands ought to love their wives. They’re really doing themselves a favor—since they’re already “one” in marriage. No one abuses his own body, does he? No, he feeds and pampers it. That’s how Christ treats us, the church, since we are part of his body. And this is why a man leaves father and mother and cherishes his wife. No longer two, they become “one flesh.” This is a huge mystery, and I don’t pretend to understand it all. What is clearest to me is the way Christ treats the church. And this provides a good picture of how each husband is to treat his wife, loving himself in loving her, and how each wife is to honor her husband. Children, do what your parents tell you. This is only right. “Honor your father and mother” is the first commandment that has a promise attached to it, namely, “so you will live well and have a long life.” Fathers, don’t exasperate your children by coming down hard on them. Take them by the hand and lead them in the way of the Master. Servants, respectfully obey your earthly masters but always with an eye to obeying the real master, Christ. Don’t just do what you have to do to get by, but work heartily, as Christ’s servants doing what God wants you to do. And work with a smile on your face, always keeping in mind that no matter who happens to be giving the orders, you’re really serving God. Good work will get you good pay from the Master, regardless of whether you are slave or free. Masters, it’s the same with you. No abuse, please, and no threats. You and your servants are both under the same Master in heaven. He makes no distinction between you and them.

– Reflection:

One of the passages should remind us that love, real love, is about giving, not getting. Husbands are called to love their wives the same way Christ loves the church: fully, sacrificially, and with purpose. That kind of love builds up, speaks life, and brings out the best in the other person. But this message isn’t just for married folks—it’s for all of us. Whether you’re a husband, wife, friend, or young person learning how to treat others, this shows us how powerful love can be when it’s selfless and kind. When we love like Christ, we help others shine, and in doing so, we grow too. That’s the kind of love that changes homes, friendships, and even communities. I know I stated earlier that I would place too much of the Word in these Posts, but for this one, I just had to; it shows what true love is and how it should be placed on each other in our communities and the world. Even though I write the reflection of what I think is meant by the Chapter that I read that morning, I feel that you should have the text yourself to see if you feel led the same as I was or differently. Enjoy this one today.

We take that same kind of love that Christ showed the Church and apply it to all of our relationships. Whether you’re married, dating, or just learning how to treat people right, Ephesians teaches us that love should be selfless, patient, and full of purpose. For our youth, this means learning early how to respect others, speak life, and build people up, not tear them down. For adults, it’s a reminder to lead with love, not ego. We grow stronger when we treat others like they matter. That’s how we build genuine relationships —one that lasts and reflects God’s heart.

For adults, it’s about checking our hearts and making sure we’re loving with intention, not just going through the motions. Whether it’s in marriage, friendships, or family, we’re called to love in a way that lifts others up and brings out their best. That kind of love takes work, but it also brings peace, unity, and strength. So where do we go from here? We start by loving better one conversation, one choice, one relationship at a time. And we keep growing, because love like Christ’s is a journey, not a one-time thing.

Wake Up From Your Sleep

– Today’s Community Scripture – 9/10/2025

Watch what God does, and then you do it, like children who learn proper behavior from their parents. Mostly, what God does is love you. Keep company with him and learn a life of love. Observe how Christ loved us. His love was not cautious but extravagant. He didn’t love in order to get something from us but to give everything of himself to us. Love like that. Don’t allow love to turn into lust, setting off a downhill slide into sexual promiscuity, filthy practices, or bullying greed. Though some tongues just love the taste of gossip, those who follow Jesus have better uses for language than that. Don’t talk dirty or silly. That kind of talk doesn’t fit our style. Thanksgiving is our dialect. You can be sure that using people or religion or things just for what you can get out of them—the usual variations on idolatry—will get you nowhere, and certainly nowhere near the kingdom of Christ, the kingdom of God. Don’t let yourselves get taken in by religious smooth talk. God gets furious with people who are full of religious sales talk but want nothing to do with him. Don’t even hang around people like that. You groped your way through that murk once, but no longer. You’re out in the open now. The bright light of Christ makes your way plain. So no more stumbling around. Get on with it! The good, the right, the true—these are the actions appropriate for daylight hours. Figure out what will please Christ, and then do it. Don’t waste your time on useless work, mere busywork, the barren pursuits of darkness. Expose these things for the sham they are. It’s a scandal when people waste their lives on things they must do in the darkness where no one will see. Rip the cover off those frauds and see how attractive they look in the light of Christ. 



Wake up from your sleep, 

Climb out of your coffins; 

Christ will show you the light! 


So watch your step. Use your head. Make the most of every chance you get. These are desperate times!
Don’t live carelessly, unthinkingly. Make sure you understand what the Master wants. Don’t drink too much wine. That cheapens your life. Drink the Spirit of God, huge draughts of him. Sing hymns instead of drinking songs! Sing songs from your heart to Christ. Sing praises over everything, any excuse for a song to God the Father in the name of our Master, Jesus Christ.

Ephesians 5:1-20 (MSG)

– Reflection:

This chapter from Ephesians reminds us that following God is like learning from a loving parent. God shows us how to live by loving us first, and we’re called to love others the same way—not to get something, but to give ourselves fully, just like Jesus did. It warns us not to let love turn into something selfish or harmful, like gossip, greed, or bad behavior. Instead, we should speak with kindness and thankfulness. The world can be full of distractions and fake promises, but God’s light helps us see what’s real and good. So we need to stay alert, make wise choices, and live in a way that pleases Christ. That means not wasting time or chasing things that don’t matter. Instead, we should fill our lives with God’s Spirit, sing from our hearts, and live with joy and purpose.

We start by choosing to live like Jesus every day. That means loving others with kindness, not just when it’s easy, but even when it’s hard. We stay away from things that pull us away from God—like gossip, greed, or acting out just to get attention. Instead, we use our words to build people up and thank God for what we have. We make smart choices, even when no one’s watching, because we know God sees our hearts. We don’t waste time on things that don’t matter. We stay awake, alert, and ready to do what’s right. And most of all, we let God’s Spirit fill us with joy, so we can live with purpose and sing praises with our whole hearts. That’s how we shine in the world.

Father, Thank You for loving me. Thank You for making a place for me in Your Kingdom. I am happy to be Your child. Help me to live in Your light, to love others like Jesus, and to do what is right. I know You are with me, and that makes me strong and full of joy. Thank You for choosing me. I will follow You every day.

– Today’s Community Scripture – 9/9/2025

And so I insist—and God backs me up on this—that there be no going along with the crowd, the empty-headed, mindless crowd. They’ve refused for so long to deal with God that they’ve lost touch not only with God but with reality itself. They can’t think straight anymore. Feeling no pain, they let themselves go in sexual obsession, addicted to every sort of perversion. But that’s no life for you. You learned Christ!
My assumption is that you have paid careful attention to him, been well instructed in the truth precisely as we have it in Jesus. Since, then, we do not have the excuse of ignorance, everything—and I do mean everything—connected with that old way of life has to go. It’s rotten through and through. Get rid of it! And then take on an entirely new way of life—a God-fashioned life, a life renewed from the inside and working itself into your conduct as God accurately reproduces his character in you. What this adds up to, then, is this: no more lies, no more pretense. Tell your neighbor the truth. In Christ’s body we’re all connected to each other, after all. When you lie to others, you end up lying to yourself. Go ahead and be angry. You do well to be angry—but don’t use your anger as fuel for revenge. And don’t stay angry. Don’t go to bed angry. Don’t give the Devil that kind of foothold in your life. Did you use to make ends meet by stealing? Well, no more! Get an honest job so that you can help others who can’t work. Watch the way you talk. Let nothing foul or dirty come out of your mouth. Say only what helps, each word a gift. Don’t grieve God. Don’t break his heart. His Holy Spirit, moving and breathing in you, is the most intimate part of your life, making you fit for himself. Don’t take such a gift for granted. Make a clean break with all cutting, backbiting, profane talk. Be gentle with one another, sensitive. Forgive one another as quickly and thoroughly as God in Christ forgave you.

Ephesians 4:17–32 (MSG)

– Reflection:

There was a time when we were completely disconnected from God’s plan, outsiders to His promises, unaware of His purpose, and blind to the hope found in Christ. But now, because of Jesus’ sacrifice, we have been brought into something much greater than ourselves. Paul reminds us that this new life in Christ requires a new way of living. We are no longer to walk in confusion or selfishness but to be renewed in our minds and actions. That means letting go of bitterness, dishonesty, and anger, and instead choosing truth, compassion, and forgiveness. God didn’t just save us to sit still; He saved us to reflect His character in how we live and how we love others.

– Where do we go from here?

Now that we understand what Jesus did for us, bringing us close to God when we were far away, it’s time to live as if we belong to Him. That means making better choices every day. We don’t have to be perfect, but we should strive to be honest, kind, and forgiving. If we mess up, we ask God for help and keep moving forward. God gave us a new way to live, and it starts with how we treat others and how we carry ourselves. Let’s choose to be people who show love, speak truth, and bring peace wherever we go.

Father, thank You for loving us even when we didn’t know You. Thank You for sending Jesus so we could be close to You. Help us today to live in a way that shows we belong to You. Teach us to let go of bad habits and to treat others with kindness, honesty, and love. When we get angry or feel like giving up, remind us that You are with us and that we can choose to do what’s right. Help us forgive others, just like You forgave us. We want to live a new life that makes you proud of us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

In light of all this, here’s what I want you to do. While I’m locked up here, a prisoner for the Master, I want you to get out there and walk—better yet, run!—on the road God called you to travel. I don’t want any of you sitting around on your hands. I don’t want anyone strolling off, down some path that goes nowhere. And mark that you do this with humility and discipline—not in fits and starts, but steadily, pouring yourselves out for each other in acts of love, alert at noticing differences and quick at mending fences.
You were all called to travel on the same road and in the same direction, so stay together, both outwardly and inwardly. You have one Master, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who rules over all, works through all, and is present in all. Everything you are and think and do is permeated with Oneness. But that doesn’t mean you should all look and speak and act the same. Out of the generosity of Christ, each of us is given his own gift. The text for this is, He climbed the high mountain, He captured the enemy and seized the booty, He handed it all out in gifts to the people. Is it not true that the One who climbed up also climbed down, down to the valley of earth? And the One who climbed down is the One who climbed back up, up to highest heaven. He handed out gifts above and below, filled heaven with his gifts, filled earth with his gifts. He handed out gifts of apostle, prophet, evangelist, and pastor-teacher to train Christ’s followers in skilled servant work, working within Christ’s body, the church, until we’re all moving rhythmically and easily with each other, efficient and graceful in response to God’s Son, fully mature adults, fully developed within and without, fully alive like Christ. No prolonged infancies among us, please. We’ll not tolerate babes in the woods, small children who are an easy mark for impostors. God wants us to grow up, to know the whole truth and tell it in love—like Christ in everything. We take our lead from Christ, who is the source of everything we do. He keeps us in step with each other. His very breath and blood flow through us, nourishing us so that we will grow up healthy in God, robust in love.

Ephesians 4:1–16 (MSG)

– Reflection:

The gifts that Paul is speaking of come to us when we accept him as our Lord and Savior and allow the Holy Spirit to do its work within us. What we get in return is a path to travel that will help those who are also looking for the same savior we were. Now we, who have accepted the Holy Spirit and are learning what we are to do while walking with Christ, have the capacity to help others start as well. Paul wrote to Ephesus about this, and now I am adding to it for us in today’s world. Jesus and the Holy Spirit are honest, and of course, nothing can be done without the Father himself. When we understand that we need all three to walk in our own personal gifts to help others, and others to help others, we will all be the better for it. Using those gifts for only yourself is not what they were designed for, and if you have the power of your gift and use it for yourself and gather up wealth here on earth for yourself, you will lose it before you leave this earth. Find the other side of your gift that is so much more empowering and uplifting. It will be hard and is often the road less traveled due to the work that needs to be done. There’s nothing easy on this road. But receiving Grace from all three should be enough.

– Where do we go from here?

Let’s stop waiting and start walking, actually, let’s run toward the life God’s called us to live. No sitting back, no wandering off. We need to stay focused, stay humble, and remain consistent. That means showing love, being quick to fix what’s broken between us, and working together. We’re all on the same road, headed in the same direction, so let’s move as one. God gave each of us different gifts for a reason, so we can build each other up and grow stronger as a team. It’s time to grow up spiritually, speak truth with love, and follow Christ’s lead in everything. He’s the source, and He keeps us connected, healthy, and strong.

Father, thank You for calling us to walk this road together. Help us not to sit still or drift off, but to move forward with purpose. Teach us to stay humble, stay disciplined, and love each other well. Remind us that we’re one body, with different gifts, all working toward the same goal. Grow us up, Lord, not just in knowledge, but in truth and love. Keep us connected to You and to each other, so we can live strong, healthy, and united in Your Spirit. Amen.

– Today’s Community Scripture – 9/4/2025

1This is why I, Paul, am in jail for Christ, having taken up the cause of you outsiders, so-called.
2I take it that you’re familiar with the part I was given in God’s plan for including everybody.
3I got the inside story on this from God himself, as I just wrote you in brief.
4As you read over what I have written to you, you’ll be able to see for yourselves into the mystery of Christ.
5None of our ancestors understood this. Only in our time has it been made clear by God’s Spirit through his holy apostles and prophets of this new order.
6The mystery is that people who have never heard of God and those who have heard of him all their lives (what I’ve been calling outsiders and insiders) stand on the same ground before God. They get the same offer, same help, same promises in Christ Jesus. The Message is accessible and welcoming to everyone, across the board.
7This is my life work: helping people understand and respond to this Message. It came as a sheer gift to me, a real surprise, God handling all the details.
8When it came to presenting the Message to people who had no background in God’s way, I was the least qualified of any of the available Christians. God saw to it that I was equipped, but you can be sure that it had nothing to do with my natural abilities. And so here I am, preaching and writing about things that are way over my head, the inexhaustible riches and generosity of Christ.
9My task is to bring out in the open and make plain what God, who created all this in the first place, has been doing in secret and behind the scenes all along.
10Through followers of Jesus like yourselves gathered in churches, this extraordinary plan of God is becoming known and talked about even among the angels!
11All this is proceeding along lines planned all along by God and then executed in Christ Jesus.
12When we trust in him, we’re free to say whatever needs to be said, bold to go wherever we need to go.
13So don’t let my present trouble on your behalf get you down. Be proud!
14My response is to get down on my knees before the Father,
15this magnificent Father who parcels out all heaven and earth.
16I ask him to strengthen you by his Spirit—not a brute strength but a glorious inner strength—
17that Christ will live in you as you open the door and invite him in. And I ask him that with both feet planted firmly on love,
18you’ll be able to take in with all followers of Jesus the extravagant dimensions of Christ’s love. Reach out and experience the breadth! Test its length! Plumb the depths! Rise to the heights!
19Live full lives, full in the fullness of God.
20God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us.
21Glory to God in the church! Glory to God in the Messiah, in Jesus! Glory down all the generations! Glory through all millennia! Oh, yes!

Ephesians 3:1–21 (MSG)

– Reflection:

Apologies for not creating yesterday, but it was my wife’s and my 20th anniversary. Our new year is probably what Paul felt as he began writing for Christ. New things bring on adventure. Paul was deeply aware that becoming a Christian wasn’t just about adopting a new belief system; it was stepping into a mystery that had been hidden for ages but was now revealed through Christ. In Ephesians 3, he speaks of a divine plan that includes all people, breaking down barriers and offering access to God in a way that was previously unimaginable. For Paul, this wasn’t just theological; it was personal. He saw himself as a steward of this grace, helping others walk into a new identity marked by unity, purpose, and spiritual depth. The “newness” he described wasn’t just about change; it was about transformation, about being rooted in love and empowered to live with boldness and confidence in God’s presence. It’s as if he were saying, “You’re not who you used to be, and that’s the point.”

– Where do we go from here?

Now that we’ve given our lives to Christ, Paul’s letter reminds us that the journey doesn’t stop at belief—it begins there. As the people of Ephesus were learning, following Jesus means stepping into a new way of living, one shaped by love, unity, and purpose. We’re called to grow together, to let go of old habits, and to live in a way that reflects God’s grace in our everyday relationships. Paul encourages us to walk worthy of this calling—not by striving alone, but by leaning into the Spirit’s power, building each other up, and staying rooted in truth. It’s about becoming more like Christ in how we think, speak, and treat others. So from here, we move forward with humility, patience, and a heart ready to serve—because this new life is not just for us, it’s meant to shine through us.

– Our Prayer for Today

Father God, thank You for the gift of new life in Christ. Help us to walk in this new way with humility, love, and purpose. Teach us to live in unity, to build one another up, and to reflect Your light in all that we do. Strengthen us by Your Spirit so that we may grow deeper in faith and live boldly for You. Guide our steps today and every day as we follow You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Christ Brought Us All Together

– Today’s Community Scripture – 9/3/2025

14The Messiah has made things up between us so that we’re now together on this, both non-Jewish outsiders and Jewish insiders. He tore down the wall we used to keep each other at a distance.
15He repealed the law code that had become so clogged with fine print and footnotes that it hindered more than it helped. Then he started over. Instead of continuing with two groups of people separated by centuries of animosity and suspicion, he created a new kind of human being, a fresh start for everybody.
16Christ brought us together through his death on the cross. The Cross got us to embrace, and that was the end of the hostility.
17Christ came and preached peace to you outsiders and peace to us insiders.
18He treated us as equals, and so made us equals. Through him we both share the same Spirit and have equal access to the Father.

Ephesians 2:14–18 (MSG)

– Reflection:

Jesus didn’t just mend broken relationships; He completely redefined them. By tearing down the walls that once divided Jews and Gentiles, insiders and outsiders, He gave us a fresh start, not just as individuals but as one unified body. The law, once a barrier, was replaced with grace. Through the Cross, Jesus ended hostility and suspicion, offering peace to all and treating us as equals. Now, through Him, we share the same Spirit and have equal access to the Father. That’s not just reconciliation, it’s transformation. Jesus didn’t just make peace; He is our peace. Ephesians 2 has been one of those chapters that defines how all of us were able to come to the kingdom. It always touches my heart and makes me very appreciative of who I am now and where I am walking.

– Where do we go from here?

For many of us who have come from the world, we are able to walk in the unity Jesus died to give us. No more divisions, no more categories, just one body, one Spirit, one access to the Father. That means we intentionally tear down the walls we’ve built in our own lives, walls of pride, prejudice, fear, or tradition, and we lean into the peace Jesus preached. We live as equals, not just in theory but in practice, treating others with the same grace we’ve received. Moving forward, we become the living proof of what Jesus accomplished: a fresh start for everybody, rooted in love, driven by reconciliation, and powered by the Spirit.

– Our Prayer for Today

Jesus, thank You for loving us enough to tear down every wall that kept us distant from You and from others. You didn’t just fix what was broken; You gave us a brand-new beginning. We’re humbled by the peace You offer and the grace You extend so freely. Help us to live in that peace daily, to see others the way You see each of us equal, loved, and worthy of grace. Thank You for making space for us at the table, for giving us access to the Father, and for calling us family. We don’t take that lightly. Keep shaping us into someone who reflects Your unity and love. Amen.
